Welcome to the linux mint forums! When laptop lid is closed in ubuntu 20.04, it suspends ubuntu by default. The power manager does not have an option for doing nothing when the lid is closed.

This fix is confirmed to be working on ubuntu 16.04, 16.04, 17.04, and 17.10. Arch convert, coming from gentoo.
